Juniper Interior Accessories — Everything Legacy Model Y Doesn't Fit
The 2025+ Model Y Juniper refresh inherited the Highland Model 3's interior: taller center armrest, redesigned under-screen storage void, touchscreen gear shifting (no stalk), ambient door-sill lighting, and a revised rear-bench cup-holder cluster. Legacy Model Y interior accessories don't cross-fit any of this. Every SKU in this hub was measured from a 2025 Juniper in the BASENOR lab, cut for the new geometry.

How Juniper Differs From Legacy Model Y
Body footprint is nearly identical — Juniper is 1.6 inches longer and width-with-mirrors is unchanged, so exterior accessories (wheel covers, roof racks, mud flaps, hitches) usually cross-fit. Interior is where everything changed: console, armrest, rear bench, door-sill, cup-holder cluster, dashboard. Interior accessories from a 2020–2024 Legacy Model Y almost never fit a Juniper cleanly. Frequently Asked Questions
How do I confirm my Model Y is a Juniper and not a Legacy?
Check the shifter and the door sills. Juniper has touchscreen gear shifting (no physical gear stalk) and ambient LED lighting on the door sills. Legacy has a physical gear stalk and no ambient lighting. Juniper retains the turn-signal stalks (unlike Highland Model 3 which removed them). If you see touchscreen shifter + sill lighting, you own a Juniper.
Will my Legacy Model Y interior accessories fit the Juniper?
Usually no. Console organizers, anti-kick mats, floor mats, rear-bench trash cans, and trunk liners are reshaped for the Juniper geometry and will leave gaps or sit proud on a Legacy-fit part. Exterior accessories (wheel covers, mud flaps, roof racks, hitch) usually do cross-fit because the body shell is dimensionally within 1-2 mm of Legacy.
Is Juniper shared with the Highland Model 3 interior?
Partially. Tesla used the same center-console mold on both, which is why many Juniper accessories (hidden console set, TPU cover, behind-screen storage) are labeled "fits Model Y Juniper and Model 3 Highland." The rear bench, footwell, and door panels differ between the two cars, so rear-zone accessories are Juniper-specific.
Does the 2025 Juniper still offer a 7-seat option?
No. 7-seat was Legacy-only (available 2021-2024 in North America). Juniper is 5-seat only. Tesla has not announced whether a 7-seat Juniper variant will be added. If you need 6 or 7 seats in a Tesla, you're looking at Model X or a used Legacy Model Y 7-seater.
Is the Juniper interior better or just different?
More storage (the behind-screen void adds ~0.8 L), better ambient lighting, and a taller armrest. Downsides per owner reviews: touchscreen shifting has a learning curve, the redesigned cup holders are tighter for large Yeti tumblers. Overall Juniper interior is a deliberate step toward Highland's design language — most owners who drove both prefer Juniper after a week of adaptation.
