Tesla Robotaxi App 26.5.0 Adds Pickup Spot Search

Tesla's Robotaxi app just picked up a small but meaningful quality-of-life improvement. Version 26.5.0, detected late on May 29, introduces the ability to search for your pickup spot by name or address — making it easier to specify exactly where you want the Cybercab to collect you rather than relying solely on a map pin.

The update builds on a steady cadence of app improvements. Version 26.3.0, released in early April, introduced Home and Work address saving along with dynamic pickup adjustments that let the vehicle nudge its stopping point closer to the rider. Version 26.4.5 followed in mid-May with deeper infrastructure work — remote operator voice calls, proactive remote assistance, and manual override capabilities for wheel-less Cybercabs. The new search feature in 26.5.0 sits on top of all that groundwork, giving riders a more familiar, map-app-style experience when setting their pickup location.

For anyone already using the Robotaxi service, the practical benefit is straightforward: instead of zooming and dragging a map pin to a specific building entrance or transit stop, you can now type the name or address directly. That matters most in dense urban areas where a few meters of precision can be the difference between a smooth pickup and a frustrated driver circling the block.

The Android version of the Robotaxi app only launched in late April 2026, nearly a year after the iOS version debuted in September 2025, so the app is still maturing quickly. Expect the update cadence to stay brisk as Tesla refines the rider experience ahead of any broader service expansion.
